Thind Management names VP of hospitality operations

Kevin Viteri
(Thind Management)

Houston-based hospitality development and management company Thind Management has appointed veteran hotel executive Kevin Viteri as vice president of hospitality operations. In his new role, Viteri will oversee operations and performance across the company’s portfolio of full-service and select-service hotels and upscale restaurant concepts, working with ownership, asset management and property-level leadership.

Viteri has nearly three decades of hospitality experience spanning Marriott, Hilton and other brands.

“Kevin has spent his career not only operating hotels, but making them perform at a very high level,” Thind Management President Supreet Singh said in a statement. “He understands every aspect of the business, from opening and repositioning properties to revenue strategy, guest satisfaction and team development. That combination of strategic oversight and deep operational experience makes him an important part of Thind’s continued growth.”

Before joining Thind, Viteri spent five years as complex general manager of the dual-branded Hilton Garden Inn / Home2 Suites by Hilton Houston Medical Center, a 300-room property that opened in 2021. Beginning with the pre-opening phase, he led the property through opening, stabilization and ongoing operations, overseeing all aspects of the dual-branded hotel complex. His responsibilities included more than 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, restaurant and bar operations, catering, guest transportation services, sales performance, team development and overall operational execution.

Previously, Viteri spent six years as GM of the Embassy Suites by Hilton The Woodlands at Hughes Landing, and was general manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Houston, where the hotel achieved the No. 1 ranking on TripAdvisor among more than 450 hotels in the Houston market during his tenure. Concurrently, he expanded his leadership responsibilities as area general manager, providing oversight for the Hilton Garden Inn and Hyatt Place in The Woodlands, as well as a SpringHill Suites property in the Houston market. In this multiproperty leadership role, Viteri was responsible for hotel openings, revenue management, pricing and commercial strategy, sales leadership, talent recruitment and operational performance across multiple assets. Before relocating to Texas, he also held hotel leadership positions in Connecticut with Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.

“Hospitality operations ultimately come down to performance, people and the guest experience, and all three have to work together,” said Viteri. “Thind has built a strong platform with an entrepreneurial approach to development and operations, and I’m excited to work with our property leaders to strengthen performance across the portfolio while supporting the company’s next phase of growth.”

Viteri began his hospitality career in front office and rooms operations. Throughout his career, he has successfully led hotel openings, multimillion-dollar renovations, property conversions and performance turnarounds while developing extensive expertise in revenue management, sales performance, service culture, operational strategy and market positioning.

In addition to its established hospitality portfolio across north Houston, The Woodlands and the City Place area, Thind Management is actively expanding its presence through strategic hotel development, property conversions and new openings throughout the greater Houston region.
