The Singer Oceanfront Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton on Singer Island, has executed three key appointments to develop its leadership team.
The hotel—which is located just outside of Palm Beach, Fla., and is operated by Atlanta, Ga.-based Davidson Resorts—has appointed Derek Shelly as general manager. In addition, Jonathan Casals has been named director of sales, while Winston Guerrero has assumed the position of executive chef of its signature restaurant, Caretta Caretta.
Shelly—who previously served as general manager of Hotel Viking in Newport, R.I., as well as holding roles with the Hyatt Regency Aurora and Marriott Denver South—will oversee daily operations.
“I am honored to be joining The Singer Oceanfront Resort at such a pivotal time, building on the success of our first year,” Shelly said in a statement. “I am excited to help usher in this next chapter, ensuring every guest discovers a truly unparalleled escape through our culinary concepts, engaging activities and meticulously redesigned guestrooms.”
Casals—most recently with Le Meridien Dania Beach and The Westin Fort Lauderdale—will lead sales efforts. Guerrero—who has cooked at the James Beard House and draws on his Colombian heritage—will guide the culinary program at Caretta Caretta, which serves coastal cuisine with local ingredients.
