Ritz-Carltons, Waldorf Astorias, other hotels appoint GMs

A number of upscale and luxury hotels, including two Waldorf Astoria and two Ritz-Carlton properties, have appointed new general managers in recent weeks. Here are some names to know. 

Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea

In Hawaii, the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea appointed Konrad Gstrein regional vice president and general manager, marking a homecoming for the hospitality leader who launched his Four Seasons career at the oceanfront resort in 2001.

After starting as assistant manager of guest services on Maui, his career progressed through key leadership roles: resort manager at Maui (2012), hotel manager at Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills (2014), and general manager positions at Four Seasons Toronto (2017) and San Francisco (2021). Most recently, he was regional vice president and general manager at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas.

Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf St. Barth

In the Caribbean, the Hôtel Barrière Le Carl Gustaf St. Barth appointed Enrique Glückmann general manager. Joining the team in March 2025, Glückmann now oversees the day-to-day operations of the five-star luxury property, including the renowned Spa Diane Barrière and the hotel’s celebrated food and beverage offerings: Beefbar and Shellona. 

Glückmann’s career began in London, and spent time at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. He held roles at Etihad Airways, the national airline of UAE; Hotel Arts in Barcelona, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel property; and at resorts in the Seychelles and Morocco. He opened The Fairmont Taghazout Bay, before becoming hotel manager for Cheval Blanc Randheli and Cheval Blanc Seychelles under the LVMH Hotel Group.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants appointed Jared Bailey  general manager of the newly renovated Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore. 

Most recently, Bailey was director of asset management for BC Lynd Hospitality, where he oversaw operational and financial performance across multiple Marriott-branded select-service hotels. Previously, Bailey held general manager roles with St. Anthony Luxury Collection Hotel in San Antonio and Hilton Garden Inn in Sugar Land, Texas.

Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Peninsula Papagayo

Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Peninsula Papagayo, appointed Cristian Albacar Fumado general manager. Most recently, Albacar was general manager of global operations for One&Only and vice president of One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai, where he spearheaded the opening.

Earlier in his career, Albacar held leadership positions at One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro, One&Only Le Saint Géran in Mauritius, Atlantis Sanya in China and One&Only Mandarina in Mexico. He trained in Michelin-starred kitchens such as The Waterside Inn and Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.

Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples

The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples appointed Andrew Rogers market general manager of the two Gulf Coast resorts: The Ritz-Carlton, Naples and The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón. 

Rogers joins The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples after serving as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park. Before that, he was general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, where he oversaw reopenings following both the pandemic and Maui wildfires. Earlier in his career, Rogers was multiproperty vice president and general manager of  The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, overseeing eight Marriott luxury hotels in northern China. 

Sheraton New Orleans Hotel

The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel appointed Ingrid Chaves general manager. Chaves has more than two decades of leadership experience with Marriott International.

Originally from Costa Rica, Chaves began her career with the company in 2002 as an At Your Service Agent at the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel. She has held leadership positions at several flagship properties across Latin America, the Caribbean and the U.S., including working as general manager of JW Marriott El Convento Cusco in Peru. Most recently, she was hotel manager at Orlando World Center Marriot.

The Tess

The Tess, a new boutique hotel in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood that has joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection, appointed Nils Bergmann general manager. 

Bergmann’s career includes key roles with W Hotels, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, AC Marriott and Hilton’s Curio Collection. Most recently, he was general manager of The Charter Hotel Seattle, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Viceroy Washington, D.C. and Hotel Zena

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts appointed Oksana Gyulnazaryan as area general manager for the Viceroy Washington D.C. and Hotel Zena, two of the brand’s premier urban lifestyle properties in the nation’s capital.

She directed operations at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and worked at the Chicago Marriott Burr Ridge.

Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

Hilton appointed Mustafa Suer general manager of the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead. Suer has overseen luxury hotels and resorts across three continents under brands such as Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. His appointment marks a return to Atlanta, where he previously held a leadership role with IHG. 

He most recently was hotel manager of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach in California. His career also includes key senior roles in hotel operations, food and beverage, and property openings at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown and the InterContinental Washington, D.C. The Wharf.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal

Hilton appointed Juan Gonzalez Izquierdo general manager of the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal. 

Most recently, Izquierdo was the general manager of Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead. Previously, he was hotel manager at Conrad New York Downtown, and held leadership roles as director of operations at luxury properties in New York, Barcelona and London. He began his career as a busboy in London and has since remained in the luxury hospitality industry.
