The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality—an association supporting scholarships and the advancement of education, mentorship and networking across the hospitality industry—appointed Deidre Schwartz international president effective Jan, 1, serving the 2026–2027 term. She succeeds Sandy Banks, NEWH president from 2024–2025.
Schwartz’s design career began in Chicago, where she built a foundation in luxury residential and senior living before making the leap into hospitality. Schwartz's career has since spanned leadership roles in development, sales, design management, marketing, and merchandising, which makes her a rare blend of strategist, connector, and design-driven problem solver.
Now based in Arizona, she has become a dynamic force within NEWH, driving growth for the Arizona and New Mexico Chapter, elevating scholarship initiatives, and contributing to international leadership. Schwartz also runs DS Contract Solutions, representing a curated portfolio of brands across hospitality and adjacent markets.
“Deidre brings the experience, dedication, and vision that NEWH thrives on,” said Chris Tucker, CEO of NEWH, Inc., “Her leadership at both the chapter and international levels, along with her entrepreneurial insight, makes her well-suited to lead NEWH into its next chapter.”
Schwartz’s focus is on embracing and supporting the dedicated volunteers who make up the International Board of Directors. She will champion opportunities that build on NEWH’s ongoing growth and success. This transition in presidential leadership invites a fresh perspective and continued momentum as the organization continues to thrive.
“I am honored to take on the role of NEWH President,” said Schwartz. “I look forward to working with our chapters and leaders to create stronger pathways for growth, mentorship, and empowerment within the hospitality industry.”
