My Place links loyalty program to anti-trafficking efforts

My Place Hotels of America has partnered with the AHLA to leverage its loyalty program as part of an effort to help combat human trafficking.

The Aberdeen, SD-based midscale brand has introduced a new redemption option that allows members of its Stay Rewarded loyalty program to donate points to support survivors of human trafficking through the AHLA Foundation's No Room for Trafficking Survivor Fund. The initiative was launched in July to coincide with World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on July 30.

“Through the No Room for Trafficking Survivor Fund, we are providing critical resources that help survivors rebuild their lives,” Kevin Carey, president and CEO of the AHLA Foundation, said in a statement. “My Place Hotels' decision to give guests the opportunity to donate their loyalty points is a strong example of how our industry is coming together to deepen that commitment and drive lasting impact.”

Stay Rewarded members can redeem loyalty points as donations to the AHLA Foundation's No Room for Trafficking Survivor Fund, which provides grants to community-based organizations offering emergency assistance, safe housing and workforce development for survivors of human trafficking.

"At My Place, we've made it a priority to be part of the solution—training our teams to recognize the signs and supporting survivors on their path forward. Our partnership with the AHLA Foundation amplifies that work, and giving guests the ability to contribute their points means the impact now extends beyond our walls. Together, we can help ensure hotels are places where everyone feels safe and welcome,” added Sarah Dinger, EVP of franchise operations at My Place Hotels.
