MDM Hotel Group, hotels appoint sales, marketing leaders

A Florida hospitality company—and a number of hotels across the country—have appointed new sales and marketing leaders in recent weeks. Here are some names to know.

MDM Hotel Group

Miami-based hospitality company MDM Hotel Group has appointed Charlene Conill corporate director of marketing and public relations. 

In this role, Conill will be the senior marketing and communications leader across MDM's portfolio, which includes the JW Marriott Marquis Miami, Hotel Beaux Arts Miami (an Autograph Collection Hotel) the JW Marriott Miami, Miami Marriott Dadeland, and Courtyard Miami Dadeland.

Conill's appointment marks a full-circle moment for both the executive and the company: She previously was marketing and PR manager for MDM Hotel Group for more than a decade, and was part of the pre-opening team of the JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts Miami in 2010.

Between her two tenures at MDM Hotel Group, Conill worked as director of marketing, communications and business development at R.J. Heisenbottle Architects. Before that, she was luxury markets manager at Coldwell Banker Realty – Florida.

The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club

The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club, a 106-room hotel on the CU Anschutz medical campus in Aurora, Colo., has appointed Nicole Isenberg director of sales and Sarah Swenson area director of marketing.

Isenberg previously was senior sales manager at the Marriott Denver Tech Center. She holds a bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism and Events, a Certificate in Corporate Finance from the University of Denver, and serves as a board member of the Civic Center Conservancy.

Swenson held marketing leadership roles at New Waterloo, where she worked as corporate director of marketing, and multiple positions with Sage Hospitality Group, including director of marketing and area director of community relations & marketing. Swenson recently earned her revenue management certificate from Cornell University.

The Ben West Palm Beach

The Ben West Palm Beach (Fla.), Autograph Collection, appointed Michael Dutton its new director of sales & marketing. 

Before joining The Ben, Dutton was director of sales & marketing at The Belgrove Resort & Spa in West Palm Beach. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with Mandarin Oriental, The Peninsula Hotels, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and Benchmark Resorts & Hotels. His experience spans destinations across Florida, the Bahamas, California, Alaska, Baltimore and Seattle, where he also held area leadership responsibilities overseeing multiple properties.

Dutton earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management & Marketing from Middlesex University in London.

JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa

In Orlando, the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa has appointed Isa Lee director of sales and marketing. 

Lee joins the resort from JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes, where she was associate director of sales and oversaw a $33 million group-revenue portfolio. Before that, she held senior sales roles at Hilton Orlando, and the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin.

The Landings Resort and Spa

The Landings Resort and Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Arlien Dyer as director of sales & marketing.

Before joining The Landings, Dyer held senior sales and marketing leadership roles with notable hospitality brands, including Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences and Half Moon, Jamaica. 

Park Hyatt St. Kitts

The Park Hyatt St. Kitts has appointed Marissa Diaz director of sales & marketing. With more than 26 years of experience and a longstanding career with Hyatt, she has held leadership roles across sales, events, marketing and revenue management.
