Charlestowne Hotels appoints Tauseen Malik as senior vice president of operations. Malik will oversee operational strategy, performance optimization and the evolution of Charlestowne’s food and beverage platforms across its expanding national portfolio. He will work closely with ownership groups and on-property teams to drive profitability, strengthen market positioning, and enhance long-term asset value.
Charlestowne Hotels has a continued focus on scaling its operating platform while deepening its expertise in complex, design-forward hospitality environments and operating models. As the company expands into new markets and asset types, including those with more experiential and program-driven components, Malik’s appointment reinforces a strategic priority to elevate F&B as both a defining element of the guest experience and a meaningful contributor to overall performance, according to the company.
With more than 20 years of global experience across lifestyle, luxury, and independent hotels, Malik brings a track record of driving NOI growth, increasing market share, and executing large-scale repositionings. He joins Charlestowne Hotels from HHM Hotels, where he served as regional vice president of Operations for the Lifestyle Division, overseeing a portfolio of full-service and independent properties across key East Coast markets. In that role, he partnered closely with commercial and culinary teams to activate food and beverage concepts, align revenue strategy, and support successful new openings and transitions.
“As our company continues to grow in scale, complexity, and geographic reach, we are committed to bringing in strong leaders like Tauseen who combine strategic operational discipline with a deep understanding of what makes independent hotels thrive,” Charlestowne Hotels CEO Kyle Hughey said in a statement. “This role is an important step in strengthening our ability to support owners in more complex operating environments, while continuing to elevate performance and build upon the strong foundation already in place across our existing portfolio.”
Malik will lead Charlestowne’s operations division, guiding management strategies for new developments, repositionings, and existing assets. His focus will include advancing internal operating frameworks, strengthening cross-functional alignment and continuing to build a culture of accountability and performance across the portfolio.
