Jeff Moore is set to join Hilton as the new executive vice president and chief technology officer.

Moore joins Hilton from Uber, where he was VP of software engineering and led a global organization of 2,500 engineers supporting Uber Eats, Uber for Business, and the company’s growth and marketing technology. He will start on Oct. 26, reporting to Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton, as a member of Hilton’s Executive Committee.

“Hilton has long used technology to drive hospitality and create better stays for our guests,” Chris Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton, said in a statement. “At a time of extraordinary change, Jeff Moore’s deep technical expertise, operating experience and customer focus will help us move faster, harness AI and next-generation technology, and continue playing a leadership role in shaping the future of hospitality.”

“Hilton’s iconic brands, unmatched global scale and reputation as a trusted hospitality leader make this an extraordinary opportunity,” Moore said. “I was especially drawn to Hilton’s ambition to harness AI and next-generation technology to reimagine the guest experience and empower team members. I look forward to working with Chris Nassetta and the leadership team to help shape the next chapter of innovation at Hilton.”

Moore brings more than 20 years of experience leading technology, engineering, product and operations organizations at global scale. At Uber, he led engineering organizations supporting Uber Eats, Uber for Merchant, Uber Direct and Uber Courier, Uber Advertising, Growth and Marketing, Uber for Business, and Applied AI. Before Uber, Moore held a series of leadership roles at Amazon.com. He was a founding leader within Fulfillment by Amazon and later led engineering and product organizations supporting Amazon’s device portfolio, including Kindle, Fire TV, Fire Tablet and Echo/Alexa products. Earlier in his career, he worked at Anheuser-Busch in software engineering and operations leadership roles. He holds three issued U.S. patents and serves on the board of Edmund Optics.

Hilton is developing new tech-focused product offerings like AI-powered trip planning to connect the journey from search to stay, as well as a fully modernized technology platform that allows rapid scaling of new guest-facing tools like personalized digital messaging.
