Aspen Meadows Resort, other hotels name sales, marketing leaders

Hotels across the country have announced new sales and marketing leaders in the past two weeks. Here are some names to know. 

Aspen Meadows Resort

Salamander Collection appointed Connie Power director of sales and marketing at the recently renovated Aspen Meadows Resort in Colorado.

Power has more than 25 years of experience in the resort and hospitality industry. She is a fifth-generation Aspen local who has worked with a variety of local hospitality standouts, including the Aspen Skiing Company where she was director of sales for The Limelight hotel brands, and most recently as director of sales and marketing at the Aspen Square Condominium Hotel. 

Hotel Per La

Hotel Per La, an Italian-inspired property in Downtown Los Angeles, has made new appointments to its leadership team, including Kayleen Morgan as the new director of sales and marketing.

Before joining Hotel Per La, Morgan worked with a variety of hotel properties and brands throughout California, including Martin Resorts, Kamla Hotels and The Hoxton.

As part of her new role, Morgan will develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share. Additionally, she will oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels to increase brand awareness.

Hotel Terra Jackson Hole and Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa

In Wyoming, the Hotel Terra Jackson Hole and Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, part of the Noble House Hotels & Resorts collection of luxury properties, appointed John Wright area director of sales and catering.

In his new role, Wright will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue generation for Hotel Terra and Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa, including food and beverage sales for catering and on-property outlets. With over 20 years of experience in hotel hospitality, John brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.

Before joining the Noble House team, Wright held various positions in the hospitality industry, including director of sales and marketing at the Marquette Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, where he  led the sales team and PR efforts through a $25 million renovation and brand conversion to Curio Collection by Hilton in 2017. He was an account executive with Marriott International from 2011 to 2014. Wright also was complex director of group sales from 2017 to 2020, where he was recognized as a top sales contributor and group sales leader for two different downtown Hilton branded properties.

Most recently, Wright was the director of sales for Loews Minneapolis, spearheading the brand transition to the Lofton Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton earlier this year.

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club

The La Jolla (Calif.) Beach & Tennis Club appointed Francine Slosser director of sales and marketing to oversee the club's four properties: the 90-room beachfront resort, the The Marine Room and Lounge, the 128-room La Jolla Shores Hotel and the oceanfront The Shores Restaurant.

In her new role, Slosser will lead the strategy for the upcoming renovation of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club and La Jolla Shores Hotel, scheduled for next year. She also will oversee the repositioning of the properties post-renovation. Her responsibilities include managing the commercial strategy for sales, marketing, catering, conference services and revenue management at the beach club and hotel.

Slosser previously was director of marketing at Balboa Bay Resort & Club in Newport Beach, Calif., where she led public relations, digital advertising, social media, website management and special events for the resort, club, marina and apartments. Her background includes Ritz-Carlton training and operational management at resorts in Hawaii and Arizona. Additionally,  Slosser has overseen three resort openings, including the reopening, rebranding and repositioning of L’Auberge Del Mar.

Slosser holds a bachelor's in business administration in travel industry management from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. 

Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows

Real estate and hospitality management company Highgate has expanded its executive leadership team at Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows in Maui, Hawaii, appointing MaryAnn Blanchard director of sales.

With more than 25 years of hospitality leadership experience, Blanchard comes to Royal Lahaina from Montage Kapalua Bay, where she was director of meetings and events. Before her tenure there, Blanchard executed numerous high-profile corporate events and weddings at Sugarman Estate in Makena as the property’s caretaker. Before that, she spent nearly a decade in Wailea as general manager at Mala Restaurant, Wailea, and senior catering manager at Grand Wailea. Throughout her career, Blanchard has planned more than 2,800 weddings and events.

Waldorf Astoria Washington, D.C.

The Waldorf Astoria Washington, D.C. appointed Tiffany Rioux director of sales and marketing and Nisha Patel director of marketing.

Rioux will be responsible for inside and outside sales, corporate marketing, branding and advertising as well as developing profitable partnerships, managing strategic business relationships and expanding revenue and market share of the property. Upon graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Rioux held roles at the Langham Hotel Boston and the St. Regis Hotel, Washington, D.C. She was director of sales and marketing at Capella Hotel Washington, D.C.; Rosewood Hotel Washington, D.C.; Conrad Washington, D.C.; The Dupont Hotel Circle Hotel Washington, D.C; and, most recently, at the InterContinental Washington, D.C. where she achieved and exceeded owner revenue expectations for 2023, maintained budgeted expenses against hotel’s expected revenues to maintain gross-operating-profit performance and layered 126 percent year-over-year going into 2024. 

Patel will oversee marketing and execution strategies and is accountable for the development, management, execution and measurement of all aspects of the marketing and branding strategies including positioning, marketing, budgets, social media, websites, advertising, collateral and content. Patel began her career in hospitality at The Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown, and then progressed as the area marketing communications manager for the Grand Hyatt Washington and Hyatt Regency Washington. She then took a role as senior marketing manager at National Geographic (The Walt Disney Company) where she led the marketing launch of a new multimillion-dollar private jet travel product line and led the marketing strategy for National Geographic’s Expedition Cruises in partnership with Lindblad Expeditions. Before joining the team at Waldorf Astoria D.C., Patel was the marketing and communications director at Rosslyn Business Improvement District and most recently was the director of brand marketing at Crystal Cruises, where she led the development of global marketing initiatives upon the cruises’ new ownership under Abercrombie & Kent.
