Scott Miller launches Ensemble Hospitality Design and Strategy Studio

Hospitality design veteran Scott Miller has launched Ensemble, a design and strategy studio focused on hotel, restaurant and wellness projects.

The New York City-based firm will provide design services informed by development and operational considerations, supporting projects from concept through completion. Ensemble’s initial portfolio includes The Paradise Valley Hotel & Casitas, a boutique hotel under development in Scottsdale, Ariz.; a restaurant project adjacent to Four Seasons Hotel Boston; a private wellness club in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood; and additional hotel projects in various stages of planning.

Miller previously served as global director at AvroKO and as director of North America for London-based 1508. He brings more than 20 years of experience across hospitality design, working with hotel brands, developers and food and beverage operators. His past clients have included Four Seasons, Six Senses and Rosewood, as well as development firms such as Related Companies, Tishman Speyer, Extell, PMG and Brookfield.

“After two decades in hospitality design, I’ve found that owners are increasingly drawn to design partners who are truly collaborative and who deeply understand the needs of developers and operators, as well as the expectations of today’s luxury guest,” Scott Miller, founder of Ensemble, said in a statement. “Ensemble was built to address that directly, bringing together senior specialists with deep experience across luxury hotels, members’ clubs and food and beverage to ensure the next wave of properties has a distinct point of view and truly delivers on its promise to guests.”

Andrés Lamos, meanwhile, has joined Ensemble as director of design operations. His background includes roles at AvroKO, Meyer Davis and Pelli Clarke Pelli, with experience spanning both architecture and interior design. His project work includes La Padrona at Raffles Boston, Pendry Mexico City and the 1230 Club in Nashville.

The firm’s leadership team also includes Candace Hickman as design director, Nicole Campion as creative director and Chris Johnson as project director of food and beverage operations. Hickman previously worked with Soho House & Co., Campion held roles at Auberge Resorts and AvroKO and Johnson’s experience includes Union Square Hospitality Group and AvroKO.
