The Hospitality Show Q&A with ZenSpace's Mayank Agrawal

The Hospitality Show, taking place Oct. 26-28 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, will bring together 5,000 attendees and promises to drive profitability for owners, operators and hospitality innovators through dedicated content, extensive networking and 400+ operations and technology vendors.

In this installment of The Hospitality Show Sponsor Q&A, we catch up with Mayank Agrawal, CEO and founder of ZenSpace, on-demand tech-enabled workspace solutions.

What’s one shift you're excited to see gaining momentum in hospitality right now?

I’m excited to see hospitality operators rethinking how physical space can work harder for them. The industry is moving beyond just rooms and restaurants — toward monetizing every square foot through technology-enabled, flexible experiences. Whether it’s transforming lobbies into coworking hubs or offering private meeting pods for digital nomads and business travelers, hotels are embracing the “work-from-anywhere” mindset. This shift toward experiential and productive spaces is unlocking new ancillary revenue streams and deeper guest engagement.

What’s one overlooked trend or innovation you believe deserves more traction in the year ahead?

Data-driven microspaces — like smart meeting pods — are an untapped goldmine. These spaces not only generate incremental revenue but also capture valuable usage analytics, from booking patterns to dwell time. That data can help hotels personalize guest experiences and optimize pricing models, much like how airlines and F&B have evolved. It’s a subtle innovation with outsized potential to redefine how hotels design, operate, and monetize their public areas.

What do you see as the biggest opportunity for hospitality businesses in the year ahead?

The biggest opportunity lies in meeting the hybrid traveler where they are. Guests now blend work, leisure and connection seamlessly. By integrating on-demand, tech-enabled workspaces into the guest journey, hotels can differentiate themselves, drive non-room revenue, and stay relevant to today’s mobile workforce. The future belongs to operators who see technology not as an amenity — but as a business model that turns idle space into income.

What advice would you give to emerging leaders in hospitality as they navigate the future of the industry?

Embrace curiosity and agility. The most successful leaders in the next decade will be those who can adapt quickly — blending digital innovation with human-centered design. Don’t wait for change to arrive from the outside; pilot new ideas within your properties, measure the outcomes, and scale what works. The hospitality industry thrives on service, but the next generation of service will be powered by data, automation, and empathy combined.

What are you most looking forward to at The Hospitality Show this year — whether it’s on the show floor, on stage, or behind the scenes?

I’m thrilled for The Work Lounge activation — it’s an incredible opportunity to demonstrate how technology and hospitality can converge to create spaces that are both profitable and purposeful. Seeing hotel leaders, operators, and innovators experience ZenSpace pods firsthand — and imagining how this model could scale across brands and markets — is what excites me most. Events like this fuel the collaboration that drives the industry forward.

Look to The Hospitality Show's show floor for the ZenSpace Work Lounge — your private pod for quick meetings, focused work or a quiet moment between sessions. Each soundproof pod seats up to four people and can be reserved in 30-minute blocks throughout the show.
