SCP Hotels (Soul, Community, Planet) has introduced Wild Wellness—a portfolio-wide evolution of its wellness programming—across the company’s three brands spanning properties in Costa Rica, California, Colorado, Hawaii and Oregon.
Wild Wellness centers on immersive, nature-based experiences informed by research around the “science of awe,” according to the Laguna Beach, Calif.-based company, which includes the SCP Wildfree, SCP Hotels and SCP brands. The company added the program is supported by a series of strategic partnerships aimed at extending the guest experience beyond the hotel stay.
“True vitality is rooted in the wild; we find our most authentic sense of well-being when we reconnect with nature—from the power of the ocean and the symbiotic intelligence of the fungi kingdom to the breathing silence of the rainforest,” Pam Cruse, co-founder and chief marketing officer of SCP Hotels, said in a statement. “Wild Wellness reflects our belief that nature is the most effective therapist, and that meaningful restoration happens when we create space to truly disconnect and be present.”
SCP has partnered with Japa Health, a health optimization platform focused on circadian rhythm, environmental factors and physiological resilience.
“Japa exists to restore people’s relationship with their own biology and with the natural forces that govern life,” said Sheryl Utal, founder of Japa Health. “We teach people how to work with light, water, rhythm, breath and cellular energy to reclaim vitality at the deepest level. We’re honored to share this with the SCP community.”
SCP has also partnered with Anima Mundi Herbals, an ethnobotanical apothecary specializing in plant-based formulations. Products from Anima Mundi are incorporated into guest experiences at select properties through beverages and tonics designed to support relaxation and balance.
At Corcovado Wilderness Lodge by SCP Hotels on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, programming is designed to draw on the region’s biodiversity and soundscape. Experiences include a Sonic Re-Wilding session focused on acoustic ecology and nervous system regulation, a whale bioacoustics excursion led by a naturalist and guided ceremonies held in the rainforest canopy at sunrise or sunset.
In Laguna Beach, Calif., programming at Laguna Surf Lodge by SCP Hotels and SCP Seven4One Hotel emphasizes ocean-based activities. Offerings include guided cold-water plunges, early-morning surf sessions at local breaks and recovery experiences designed to support rest and sleep.
At SCP Mendocino Inn and Farm and SCP Mendocino Coast Lodge, wellness activities are shaped by the surrounding redwood forests and coastline. Guests can participate in guided mushroom foraging, forest bathing sessions and farm-to-table dining experiences intended to promote mindfulness and connection to place.
Salishan Coastal Lodge by SCP Hotels, located on Oregon’s central coast, incorporates outdoor exploration with ritual-based programming. Activities include guided hikes through old-growth forests, chef-curated picnics overlooking Siletz Bay, lunar-aligned cacao ceremonies and spa treatments focused on sensory grounding.
Across the portfolio, SCP continues to emphasize design elements intended to support rest and recovery. Select properties feature “Peaceful Rooms,” screen-free accommodations designed to reduce digital stimulation and encourage sleep. These rooms include sound machines, essential oil diffusers, meditation tools, yoga mats and air purification systems. Some locations, including Laguna Surf Lodge and SCP Mendocino Inn and Farm, also feature Avocado Green Mattresses made with certified organic materials.
