Aparium’s Hotel Heron to join Curio Collection by Hilton

The Hotel Heron—located in historic Old Town Alexandria, Va.—has joined the Curio Collection by Hilton.

The 134-room hotel will continue to be managed by Chicago-based Aparium and represents the second Curio Collection by Hilton property in the Washington, DC area. As part of the soft brand, guests will gain access to Hilton Honors, the company’s loyalty program.

“Since opening, Hotel Heron’s sense of place has been rooted in Alexandria’s vibrant community and creative energy, which comes to life through our thoughtful culinary offerings and impactful lifestyle programming,” Matt Karow, general manager of Hotel Heron, said in a statement. “Joining Curio Collection by Hilton gives us the opportunity to bring that story to a wider audience while preserving the authenticity that resonates with locals and loyal guests.”

“Hotel Heron’s charm and culturally connected programming embody the kind of guest experience Curio Collection aims to deliver,” added Brooke Thomas, brand leader, Curio Collection by Hilton. “As a Northern Virginia-based company, Hilton is always excited to expand in our home market, especially with brands like Curio Collection that celebrate the bespoke stories of a destination. We’re thrilled to continue that momentum with the addition of Hotel Heron.”

Hotel Heron is known for its upscale design, community-focused programming and culinary concepts, including KILN, a signature ground-floor restaurant serving hearth-inspired Mid-Atlantic cuisine. Other offerings include Francis Hall, a craft cocktail within the hotel; and Good Fortune, a rooftop venue offering unobstructed views of the Potomac River.
