Mews launches POS platform to hoteliers in U.S., Canada

Mews has rolled out its point-of-sale platform in the U.S. and Canada, extending its property management and payments capabilities to hotel food & beverage operations in North America.

Mews POS—which was introduced in 2024—is currently deployed in more than 20 countries across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The North American launch is designed to connect property management, food and beverage and payments operations through a single system.

The platform is designed to support a range of hotel food and beverage operations, including restaurants, counter service, bars, grab-and-go retail and breakfast service. Guest profiles can be accessed through the POS, while food and beverage charges can be posted directly to a guest's bill. Receipts are also accessible through the property management system via URL, while payment reconciliation and reporting are automated within the platform.

Vanessa Mowell, director of operations at Shelter Social Club—which includes a handful of boutique hotels primarily in Ojai, Calif.—touted the Mews platform.

“We were previously running F&B and retail on completely separate systems—paper-based tip tracking, no room charging after checkout,” Mowell said in a statement. “Mews POS brought everything together across our lobby shop, bar and in-room amenities.”

“Hotels shouldn’t need a separate system for every part of their operation,” added Richard Valtr, founder of Mews.

According to Amsterdam-based Mews, its platform serves 15,000 customers across 85 countries and includes property management, point-of-sale, revenue management, housekeeping and payments capabilities.
