Trinity Hills inks deal with Marriott to bring Tribute Hotel, residences to Panama

Trinity Hills Valley, S.A.—the Panamanian land-owning entity affiliated with U.S.-based developer TrinityHills Capital—has signed a franchise agreement with Marriott International to bring a Tribute Portfolio hotel and branded residences to Panama.

The development of the surf lagoon-anchored mountain resort will include a 111-key Tribute Portfolio hotel alongside 130 branded private residences. The resort will be located west of Panama City in Lidice, Capira, at the base of Cerro Trinidad (Trinity Hills), an area undergoing rapid transformation driven by major infrastructure investments. Dallas, Texas-based Remington Hospitality has been selected to operate both the hotel and residential components.

“This project with Marriott International validates our commitment to innovative resort development,” Abdiel Basto, COO and managing director of TrinityHills Capital, said in a statement. “By integrating a Tribute Portfolio hotel and branded residences in this rapidly developing corridor, we are creating an authentic destination that celebrates Panama’s natural beauty while benefiting from transformative infrastructure improvements that will enhance long-term accessibility and value.”

Anchored by a surf lagoon, the project is expected to blend adventure-driven amenities with upscale accommodations, wellness offerings and nature-focused design, according to the company. The concept aims to position Panama as a competitive player in the global experiential resort market.

Sustainability and community integration are central to the project’s vision, with plans emphasizing environmentally responsible development and local engagement. The development is expected to advance following final regulatory approvals, with additional details on amenities, design and timelines to be announced as the project moves forward.
