Treehouse Hotels to open first resort in Miami Beach

Treehouse Hotels—a design-driven hospitality brand created by Starwood Hotels chairman Barry Sternlicht—is slated to make its South Florida debut in early 2029 with the opening of the Treehouse Hotel Miami Beach.

Developed by Keyah Real Estate Group, the project will introduce the brand’s signature blend of nostalgia, creativity and laid-back luxury to Miami Beach. The planned opening will mark Treehouse’s first resort offering and its initial foray into Florida, a milestone for Miami, Fla.-based Starwood Hotels.

Treehouse Hotel Miami Beach will reimagine two historically significant 1940s buildings—the Art Deco Haddon Hall and Campton Apartments—alongside a new-build tower with an ocean-view rooftop. The property is being designed by Rottet Studio, which plans to draw from the site’s Art Deco heritage while layering in influences from Streamline Moderne, Spanish Mediterranean Regionalism and Miami Modern architecture.

“Treehouse Hotels is about capturing that carefree joy you had as a kid, when every day felt like an adventure and anything was possible,” Sternlicht said in a statement. “Miami Beach has that same spirit of community, creativity and fun. Treehouse Hotel Miami Beach will be a place where guests can relax, laugh and reconnect with that carefree spirit.”

“As we brought together this historic multi-building project, we knew we needed an equally unique concept and identity. Barry’s vision for Treehouse Hotels complements the characteristics, programming and design elements we have created here,” said Xaver Kriechbaum, president of Keyah Real Estate Group.

The Treehouse brand launched in London’s Marylebone neighborhood in 2019. Since then, the portfolio has expanded to include Treehouse Hotel Manchester and Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley, the brand’s first U.S. property.

Situated in Miami Beach’s historic district, the hotel’s interiors will feature natural materials, hand-crafted details and layered textures. Many of the hotel’s spacious suites will offer ocean views and the property will include a central courtyard with a pool and tropical landscaping. The hotel will also feature multiple dining and lounge concepts, along with a rooftop pool offering panoramic views over Miami Beach.
