Toro Development taps Mainsail Lodging for Georgia hotel

Toro Development Company has selected Mainsail Lodging & Development as development partner and operator for a lifestyle hotel at Medley, a mixed-use development in Johns Creek, Ga.

The 150-key hotel will anchor Medley’s hospitality offering and be fully integrated into the development’s community-focused environment, which is scheduled to open in October. The development will include 164,000 square-feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space; 883 luxury residences; and 110,000 square-feet of lifestyle office space.

Scheduled to open in 2028, the yet-to-be-named hotel will be developed and operated by Tampa-based Mainsail and is expected to operate under a nationally recognized upper-upscale lifestyle soft brand. The hotel will front a 25,000-square-foot central greenspace, which is designed to serve as a hub for gatherings and events.

“Hospitality and five-star service are fundamental to our mission of creating a dynamic Third Place at Medley where people can truly come together,” said Mark Toro, chief vision officer of Alpharetta, Ga.-based Toro Development Company. “Partnering with Mainsail ensures our hotel will draw energy from the mixed-use environment while delivering a distinctive experience for staycationers, business travelers and special-event guests alike.”

Mainsail Lodging & Development has a portfolio of mixed-use and destination-driven hospitality projects, including Epicurean Atlanta in Midtown’s 1105 West Peachtree development; Trilith Guesthouse in Fayetteville’s Town at Trilith creative community in North Carolina; and the historic Hotel Forty-Five in Macon, Ga.

“Medley exemplifies the kind of thoughtfully planned, community-centered development where hospitality is woven into the fabric of the place,” said Joe Collier, president and founder of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Planned amenities for the hotel include modern guestrooms, a signature restaurant, approximately 5,000 square-feet of flexible meeting and event space connected to the lobby and greenspace and a full suite of resort-quality offerings designed to serve corporate, leisure and local event demand.

Medley, meanwhile, has secured a diverse lineup of retail and dining tenants, including STIR; Sephora; CRÚ Food & Wine Bar; Fadó Irish Pub; Drybar Shops; Five Daughters Bakery; Summit Coffee; Rena’s Italian Fishery & Grill; BODYROK; Playa Bowls; High Country Outfitters; and Amorino.
