My Place Hotels of America has opened its first property in Florida with the debut of My Place Hotel-Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda, Fla., located in a corridor between Fort Myers and Tampa.
Located along Interstate 75 at Kings Highway, the 63-guestroom hotel is first new hotel to enter the submarket in more than five years and makes the property one of only two extended-stay hotels serving the area.
"We're thrilled to open our first My Place Hotel in Florida and introduce Punta Gorda to the reliability and comfort offered at our properties," Ryan Rivett, founder and CEO of My Place Hotels, said in a statement. "This is an exciting step in our growth across the state, with three additional Florida locations already under development. We see tremendous opportunity here, and we're eager to keep building on that momentum," he said in a statement.
The hotel offers the brand's standard amenities, including in-room kitchens, guest laundry facilities, My Store and a business center. More than 20 fast-food, quick-service and full-service restaurants are located within a half-mile of the property, providing guests with a range of dining options within walking distance.
Legacy Development LLC began work on the site in 2022, with construction starting in 2025. Designed by The Richardson Design Partnership and Legacy Design Group, the hotel has a flat-roof design intended to enhance storm resistance and operational efficiency while maintaining the modern look of the My Place prototype.
The property is owned by PCMP 23 LLC and managed by Legacy Management LLC.

"From airport travelers and relocating families to project crews settling in for weeks at a time, our team is ready to give guests a comfortable, consistent home base as this region grows."
