McKibbon Hospitality and Capstone Property Group have broken ground on the Residence Inn by Marriott Gainesville, a 90-suite extended-stay hotel.
The project—which will be managed by Tampa, Fla.-based McKibbon Hospitality—represents owner Capstone’s second hotel development in Gainesville, Ga. Construction is underway, with completion of the four-story property expected in early 2027.
“This community means a great deal to me and my family, and we’re proud to continue investing in its growth,” Jeff Payne, founder of Capstone Property Group, said in a statement. “The new Residence Inn will enhance local hospitality offerings and create opportunities for connection and economic development.”
Buck Lindsey & Associates will oversee architecture and interior design, with Lindsey, Pope, Brayfield providing additional interior design support. Ecker Construction is the project’s general contractor.
The hotel will have a ground-level bar and restaurant, meeting and boardroom space, a fitness center and a pool courtyard with outdoor gathering areas.
