As part of an effort to reduce development costs and improve operational efficiency, Choice Hotels International has debuted a newly redesigned prototype for its midscale, extended-stay Everhome Suites brand.
The next-generation Everhome Suites prototype reflects a collaborative development process involving developers, operators, architects, contractors and suppliers, according to the North Bethesda, Md.-based franchisor. The prototype was developed in partnership with BRR Architecture, the architect of record for Choice Hotels’ extended-stay brands.
Everhome Suites is one of four brands within the company’s extended-stay portfolio. The brand currently has 27 hotels open and roughly 40 properties in its development pipeline. Groundbreakings for the new prototype are expected to begin in the coming months.
"Extended stay continues to be one of the most compelling segments in lodging, and Everhome Suites is a key part of our growth strategy," Matt McElhare, vice president and extended stay segment lead at Choice Hotels International, said in a statement. "This redesigned prototype demonstrates how we're applying real-world insight and disciplined innovation to help owners succeed—helping to lower development costs and deliver the experience today's extended-stay guests expect."
According to Choice Hotels, the updated prototype is structured around three core priorities: reducing development costs, improving operational efficiency and enhancing the guest experience. Refined layouts and material selections are expected to lower average construction costs per room by approximately 13 percent compared to the prior prototype. Design enhancements are also designed to support lean staffing models and streamlined operations.
The redesigned Everhome Suites continues to emphasize apartment-style accommodations tailored to longer stays. Suites have full kitchens, flexible workspaces and contemporary interiors designed to support productivity and comfort for extended-stay travelers.
The new prototype increases overall capacity to approximately 120 suites. Choice Hotels noted the expanded key count is intended to strengthen returns for owners while preserving operational simplicity.
