LAS VEGAS — The annual HD Expo was held last week at Mandalay Bay, with hundreds of hospitality design suppliers hosting booths. Here are a few new products hoteliers are likely to see in lobbies and guestrooms in the coming months.
Dedon

Nicole Ciminera, marketing manager for furniture company Dedon, celebrated the January appointment of Patrick Troy as the president and CEO of both Dedon U.S. and Gloster U.S. “We are now sharing a warehouse together in Virginia, which has enabled us to increase our cushion production capacity, as well as sharing benefits such as quicker shipping [and reduced lead times, and has helped us to really expand our contract sales team,” Ciminera said.
At the booth, the company was displaying the mystic blue fiber on its Orbit XXL love seat. “We wanted to find a way to refresh the collection as well as really push and continue our fiber development,” Ciminera said. The fiber, she explained, has a two-tone effect that changes color depending on the viewer’s angle.
The Cirql Nu Collection by Werner Aisslinger now includes a lounge chair that is wider and lower to the ground than the previous units seen at BDNY last year. The seat uses fibers with different colors on opposite sides for a contrasting visual.
Ethnicraft

Belgian furniture brand Ethnicraft expanded several of its collections with new additions. The Elements collection has new coffee tables as well as dining tables in two sizes, said Anne-Marie Earl, the company’s U.S. communications manager.
The Elements line is made from Microcement. “It's our own material,” Earl said. “It's lightweight. It's not solid concrete. It's something that you can easily move.” The tables are also easy to ship due to their lighter weight, she added, and are stain resistant.
The solid-wood Oscar rack, designed by Alain van Havre, has atypical compartments for spaces that need open closets.
Gloster
Teresa Newton, marketing and textile manager at Gloster, showed off several sustainable products at the company’s booth, including solar lights and the Raw Table, made from Indonesian teak wood. The company, Newton noted, has a factory in Indonesia where they can make all of their products.
Henrik Pedersen designed the Deck table for Gloster, inspired by teak decking on sailing vessels. The collection’s pieces can be formulated as a single module or in a range of combinations
KFI Studios
KFI Studios, a first-time exhibitor at HD Expo, displayed the Dotti seating collection at its booth. “It's based on round, upholstered, oversized-proportioned shapes that you can lean back and cozy up in,” said Julie Rooney, the company’s director of marketing. The lounge chairs (with low and high backs), ottomans and poufs all have a consistent round shape meant to look like dots.
Rooney expects the seats to work well in casual lobby spaces where people can sit and socialize.
Lusive Decor

Sally Thomas Cooper, owner and president of sales and marketing at Lusive Decor, showed off the company’s new Monarch Lighting line of pendants, sconces, reading lights, floor lamps, and table lamps for hotel guestrooms. “We've used a gorgeous butterfly motif that our amazing graphics team designed and really took it to another level,” she said.
The Arco chandelier was highlighted as the collection’s main representation. “This is a two-tier chandelier that we designed ourselves … with fins of dichroic glass,” Cooper said. “Of course, it can be customized.”
Momentum Textiles & Wallcoverings

Chandler Noah, the owner and creative director of New York City-based studio En Viu, is part of Momentum’s Digital Creations artist collaboration, and was at the company’s booth on the trade show floor. Drop Cloth is the first of three wallcovering designs that will be released through the collaboration.
“The piece itself is an abstraction of a skyscape,” Noah said. “We're also playing with this notion of the artist's hand, something that really feels hand-painted.” The wallcovering is made of vinyl with the texture of canvas. “It's meant to feel like it came from the studio,” he added.
