U.S. weekly hotel results: Aug. 9-15

The U.S. hotel industry reported an 18th consecutive week of positive year-over-year comparisons, according to the latest data from CoStar. At the same time, metrics were down week over week as summer came to an end and schools reopened.

For the week of Aug. 9-15 (percentage change from comparable week in 2025):

  • Occupancy: 68 percent (+2.6 percent)
  • Average daily rate: $163.56 (+3.5 percent)
  • Revenue per available room: $111.29 (+6.2 percent)

Conversely, for the week of Aug. 2-8, occupancy was 70 percent, ADR was $166.85 and RevPAR was $116.77. Week over week, occupancy declined 2.9 percent, ADR 2 percent and RevPAR 4.7 percent.

Top Markets

Among CoStar’s top 25 markets, San Diego saw the highest increases in ADR (+12.6 percent to $249.71) and RevPAR (+22.8 percent to $201.10). The market’s performance was helped by LPL Focus 2026 as well as a Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan concert.

Tampa, Fla., reported the only double-digit occupancy lift (+11.7 percent to 64.9 percent) and the second-highest RevPAR gain (+17.5 percent to $96.55). The market hosted the DoDIIS Worldwide Conference and a Mötley Crüe concert.
