Cloudbeds, h2c report examines AI, automation in hospitality

Cloudbeds has partnered with h2c Research for the new “AI & Automation in Hospitality: Navigating Today’s Challenges, Shaping Tomorrow’s Gains” report, which presents exclusive insights from 189 quantitative responses and 26 executive interviews across 171 hotel chains, representing more than 11,000 properties and 1.3 million rooms worldwide.

Key Findings

  • AI Adoption Surges: 78 percent of hotel chains are already using AI, and 89 percent plan to expand applications in the next 12–24 months. Chatbots lead current use (42 percent), while customer data management tops future expansion (50 percent).
  • Integration Gaps: Despite widespread adoption, reliance on AI solutions remains moderate, with only 6 percent of hotel chains operating with a comprehensive AI strategy.
  • Barriers to Scale: Lack of expertise (62 percent), unclear strategy (51 percent), and integration challenges (45 percent) remain top obstacles.
  • Value Areas: Business Intelligence (78 percent) and guest communication (77 percent) are seen as the most valuable applications today, with personalization and upselling driving future initiatives.

Cloudbeds’ Perspective

“The study confirms what we see daily: adoption is rising, but integration and clarity are the roadblocks,” said Adam Harris, CEO of Cloudbeds. “We are focused on solving both by turning fragmented data into an organizational-wide asset and transforming systems of record into systems of action. That’s how you reduce costs, lift revenue, and keep the guest experience at the center.”

Cloudbeds’ participation in this study reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting hoteliers with technology that simplifies operations, drives revenue, and builds guest trust.

Industry Collaboration

This report, supported by 15 leading global IT vendors, brings together critical perspectives from hoteliers worldwide. By collaborating with h2c, Cloudbeds and its partners underscore the importance of industry-wide knowledge-sharing to navigate today’s challenges and seize tomorrow’s opportunities.
