Peregrine Hospitality to open Pismo Beach, Calif., resort

Peregrine Hospitality is set to debut the 170-room Pacific Point Resort in Pismo Beach, Calif. in July.

Set across 12 blufftop acres in San Luis Obispo County, the California project consolidates and transforms the former Pismo Lighthouse Suites and Shore Cliff Hotel into what will become the city’s largest hotel. The majority of guestrooms feature ocean views, complemented by experiential touches such as in-room binoculars and a “Whale Watch Dispatch” service delivering real-time alerts for whale and dolphin sightings.

Design was led by SFA Design and draws on the contrast between rugged bluffs and coastal movement, according to the company. The 100-room Shore Cliff wing looks to channel a nostalgic, land-inspired aesthetic with earthy tones and vintage California references, while the Lighthouse and Ocean House suites are designed to embrace a lighter, ocean-driven palette with surf and sky influences.

“Pacific Point Resort is designed as an extension of the Pismo landscape,” Heather Stege, COO of Peregrine Hospitality, said in a statement. “By connecting guests to the region’s marine ecology and cultural heritage, we aim to create a more immersive and lasting coastal experience.”

The opening is part of a broader portfolio expansion for the Denver, Colo.-based owner/operator that also includes Avila Beach House, a 54-suite property set to debut in July, as well as continued investment in Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach and Paso Robles Inn. The latter will introduce three new dining concepts in 2026 from Charlie Palmer, including a rooftop bar and modern tavern.

Pacific Point Resort represents the flagship of Peregrine’s $50 million regional investment and signals a broader push by the company to elevate the Central Coast’s positioning as a leisure destination. Amenities include two pools—one the largest in Pismo Beach—an expansive sun deck and Pacific Market, a grab-and-go culinary concept designed for outdoor dining across the property.

The glass-wrapped lobby is designed to anchor the arrival experience, featuring panoramic ocean views, a vaulted wood ceiling and an interactive wine wall showcasing local vintages, alongside rotating works from regional artists.
