Converted Courtyard by Marriott opens near Universal Orlando

Performance Hospitality has completed the conversion of the former Holiday Inn & Suites into the Courtyard by Marriott Across Universal Orlando.

The property is managed by Fort Lauderdale-based Performance Hospitality and also retains its designation as a Universal Partner Hotel. The conversion included a multi-million-dollar renovation encompassing 390 guestrooms, including 134 one- and two-bedroom suites, as well as updated public areas and amenities.

The Florida hotel—which now participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program—is located directly across from Universal Orlando Resort and near major demand drivers including International Drive, the Orange County Convention Center, ICON Park, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld Orlando.

“This hotel transition marks more than a brand change—it ushers in a new era of elevated service with enhanced amenities, reimagined guest experiences and the benefits of one of the world’s leading hotel loyalty programs,” Erin Arpke, general manager said in a statement.

Food-and-beverage offerings include The Bistro & Bar, serving Starbucks beverages, breakfast items and evening cocktails, and The Crate Grab-N-Go, a self-service market with snacks and travel essentials.

Additional amenities include outdoor pools, a fitness center, more than 11,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, on-site catering services, complimentary Wi-Fi and a Universal vacation planning center. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle transportation to Universal Orlando Resort.
