Bourn Companies has completed the structural topping out of the Tempo by Hilton Tucson Uptown, a five-story, 144-room hotel which is part of a mixed-use project.
The milestone marks the completion of the building’s vertical structure as the project advances toward a planned January 2027 opening. The hotel is part of Tucson, Ariz.-based Bourn Companies’ broader redevelopment of the former Foothills Mall site. The addition of the Tempo-branded property is expected to complement existing and planned residential, retail, office and entertainment components in the Uptown district.
Management of the hotel has been assigned to Houston, Texas-based Valencia Hotel Group and EBCO General Contractors represents the general contractor. The project team also includes Mayse & Associates as architect of record, Studio 11 Design as interior designer and Stovelight overseeing procurement.
“The enthusiasm surrounding the Tempo by Hilton project is energizing,” Chris Egger, VP of EBCO General Contractors, said in a statement. “Our trade partners remained engaged and supportive throughout the extended pre-construction timeline, and that dedication set the tone for a successful build. Reaching the top-out milestone is an exciting moment for the entire team. We have loved working with Bourn and are proud to partner together on a project that will make a meaningful impact in the Tucson area.”
Positioned as a lifestyle-focused offering within the Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the property will include roughly 3,000 square feet of meeting and event space, an indoor/outdoor bar and a second-level outdoor pool. Other amenities will include a fitness center and a limited number of wellness-oriented guestrooms equipped with in-room exercise equipment.
Food and beverage offerings will center on Moonsong Bar + Café, a concept designed to serve both hotel guests and the surrounding community. Additional public spaces are planned to support social interaction and remote work.
