Signia by Hilton Indianapolis tops out as city’s tallest hotel

Just over a year after a concrete pour laid the foundation for the Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, the project has officially topped out, reaching its highest structural point at the 38th floor.

The milestone brings the 800-room hotel—Hilton’s first Signia property in both the state and the Midwest—one step closer to its planned fall 2026 opening. Set to become the city’s tallest hotel, Signia by Hilton Indianapolis will have a Sky Lounge and Mezzanine on the 37th and 38th floors with views of downtown.

“Signia by Hilton Indianapolis will be more than a hotel—it will be a transformative destination that reimagines hospitality in the Midwest,” Kathy Heneghan, general manager, Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, said in a statement.

To commemorate the milestone, city officials and Hilton executives recently gathered inside the future ballroom to celebrate construction reaching 62 percent completion.

“The hotel and convention center expansion we are celebrating today is the direct result of Indianapolis community leaders, government leaders and businesses consistently working together to make our downtown a highly sought-after destination for events and tourism,” added Central Indiana Building executive director Andy Mallon.

When complete, the property will include nearly 100,000 square feet of meeting space, anchored by a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. The hotel will connect directly to the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium via a climate-controlled skywalk, becoming the 12th connected hotel downtown and bringing the total number of connected rooms to more than 5,200.

The $625 million project is financed through hotel revenue bonds approved by the City-County Council. Project partners include AECOM Hunt, Ratio Design, Central Indiana Building and Construction Trades and FA Wilhelm Construction.
