Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts—the Piñero-owned resort brand operating as part of a joint venture with Hyatt—provided an update on its brand evolution and 2026 growth roadmap following the first year of its strategic alliance.
The next phase of the partnership will focus on strengthening brand positioning, enhancing the guest experience and advancing a series of high-impact renovation initiatives across key destinations, according to the Palma de Mallorca, Spain-based company.
“The fundamental element behind the success of this joint venture continues to be the cultural fit between two organizations that share the same values,” Javier Águila, Global President of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, said in a statement. “Over these first 12 months, there has been a valuable transfer of knowledge and best practices. We have confirmed the complementarity of the Bahia Principe brand with the rest of the brands within our Inclusive Collection, and we have laid the foundations for its future growth,” he said.
“Our focus at Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts is to continue evolving while remaining true to the essence of our brand. The first year of this alliance allowed us to build a strong operational foundation,” added Julio Pérez, CEO of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts
Planned initiatives for 2026 include a comprehensive renovation of Bahía Príncipe Costa Adeje in Tenerife; the complete remodeling of 232 guestrooms at Bahía Príncipe Luxury Akumal in Riviera Maya; and significant upgrades at Bahía Príncipe Grand Punta Cana, including improvements to 358 guestrooms and public areas. Full renovation projects are also planned for Bahía Príncipe Grand Jamaica and Bahía Príncipe Luxury Runaway, building on work initiated in 2025.
The year 2025 marked a period of integration and operational alignment for Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. Key milestones included the reopening of Bahía Príncipe Luxury Tenerife as an adults-only resort in Costa Adeje following a full repositioning, as well as the opening of Bahía Príncipe Grand Tequila, a new adults-only resort in Riviera Maya.
