The former Best Western Plus Pepper Tree Inn has been converted and rebranded as FOUND Hotels Santa Barbara, Series by Marriott.
The conversion is part of a broader agreement announced in September 2025 between owner Hawkins Way Capital and Marriott International to transition six U.S. properties into the FOUND Hotels, Series by Marriott portfolio. The 150-room property represents the brand’s entry into the domestic market.
“Our goal is to enhance the guest experience while honoring the legacy of this beloved Santa Barbara property,” Skylar Gustavson, general manager, FOUND Hotels Santa Barbara, Series by Marriott, said in a statement. “By joining the Marriott platform while maintaining the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere guests have always loved, we’re able to offer travelers the best of both worlds.”
Originally developed as a garden-style hotel, the property includes landscaped courtyards and two outdoor pools. It is situated in La Cumbre Plaza with access to Highway 101 and is positioned to serve both leisure and business demand, as well as groups visiting Santa Barbara, Calif. The hotel continues to have complimentary breakfast and on-site parking as part of its amenity package.
